Desmond Rice

Desmond is M12’s Head of Communications and PR.

In this role he leads the fund’s employee and executive communications, culture strategy, media relations, and thought leadership. Through expert storytelling and relationship building, he works to maximize the impact of how M12 shows up for our portfolio companies, our Microsoft stakeholders, and for founders and the startup community.

Prior to joining M12, he spent four years leading communications for Microsoft’s presence in the Bay Area.

Desmond has more than 15 years of progressive experience across multiple communications disciplines and has held various roles at the Federal Reserve System, Northrop Grumman, and Deloitte.

He holds an MBA and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of North Texas, and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
