Adam Coccari is a founding member of M12 leading the portfolio development team, which accelerates growth of the 85+ startups in M12’s portfolio through partnerships, technology, and connections across the Microsoft ecosystem.
Adam currently serves as a board observer for Trusona, Unravel, Directly, and Parabol—a deal that he sourced and co-led. He is also a board director for Venture Out.
In his five years with the fund, Adam has helped dozens of entrepreneurs acquire new customers through joint sales alongside Microsoft’s global salesforce. He has also brokered strategic partnerships between Microsoft and M12 portfolio companies including Rescale, Incorta, Unbabel, and Outreach. He has grown the portfolio development team to seven people and created a scalable platform to support M12’s expanding portfolio—from seed stage startups to mature companies. Adam and team have established a new standard for corporate venture capital value creation that has been replicated throughout the ecosystem.
Prior to joining M12, Adam was a program manager for Microsoft Azure during a hyperscale phase of the business. He led planning for global datacenter expansion, built critical marketing automation and analytics systems for the product, and negotiated strategic partnerships for new market entry. Before joining Microsoft, Adam founded an educational gaming startup during the early days of the iOS App Store. The company’s product, Math Evolve, is a math practice game for kids that has received several accolades and has been dubbed “the holy grail of edutainment.”
Adam holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University. He enjoys creating music, playing basketball, cooking, and spending time with his son and wife at their home in Seattle.
